DED, GTZ and InWEnt came together to create GIZ.
DED (German Development Service) and InWEnt (Capacity Building and International Development) have been included in the legal structure of GTZ (German Technical Cooperation) since January 1, 2011. This merger gave birth to GIZ which brings together under one same roof the long expertise of the three institutions, which opens up new perspectives.
The aim of GIZ is to promote international cooperation for sustainable development. In addition, she also works in the field of international education.
For the 2011 financial year, GIZ forecasts turnover and subsidies totaling nearly 1.9 billion euros.²
